School Tours

Newgrange Farm

On Monday, 28th May 2018, Junior Infants set off on their big adventure! Many of the boys and girls had never been on a school tour before and so they were extremly excited. We all gathered on the bus at 9am and started on our trip to Newgrange Farm, Slane, Co. Meath. All the children loved watching the fields flying passed and keeping an eye out for sheep and cattle along the way. As we got closer the boys and girls sang "Old McDonald" to pass the time.
When we arrived we were split into two groups to feed and pet the animals, play in the sandpit, splash about at the water table and have a drive around the yard on some tractors and trailers. The highlight of the trip was certainly our trip around the farm and fields in a big tractor and trailer. This is when we examined the crops and even spotted one of the "Three Bears" on his way to Goldilocks' house.
After a scrumptious picnic lunch in the sun, we headed back to Clondalkin. Some of the children, and teachers, were so tired that they had to have a quick nap on the bus home.
All in all, everyone had a fantastic day and the children can't wait for their next school tour.
